Yoga is wonderful for flexibility and even getting in shape. Yoga focuses on deep concentration on a person's breathing and using daily proper posture. Not only is it great for stress, but also a bad back can benefit greatly. Yoga involves relaxation, gentle exercises and the benefits of meditation.
By focusing with the mind inward, relaxing and revitalizing the body in order to achieve a sense of proper balance and well being.

The results are that the muscles relax, blood pressure drops, nerves soothed, anxiety is released, immune system is strengthened, and healing promoted. All this combined, symptoms and back pain can be alleviated and further backaches can be prevented.

Mind/Body Medicine

Psychoneuroimmunology is a new development that studies the connection between mind and body believing that all is interconnected. This study specialises on investigating the interaction between- emotions a person is dealing with, the nervous system, and the power of the immune system. Some doctors use a combination of treatments such as; guided imagery, relaxation, and biofeedback. By focusing on an image as to what is going on in their backs. By having the pain speak, many issues come to light.
Sometimes the pain is happening because of daily worries and stresses. One may be experiencing sadness, work related issues, spousal problems, anger bottled up etc. When we ask, we get an answer; it is believed that the bodies own inner wisdom and intelligence will give an answer.
There are other techniques that work the harmony of the body and mind, while receiving biofeedback, a person can learn how to focus on and manipulate:

1) Heart beat
2) Respiration,
3) Muscle tension,
4) Brain waves.
